I’m Jess Renée, a Massachusetts-based wildlife biologist, photographer, and creative behind Renee Visuals Media.
My work sits at the intersection of science, art, and real-world experience—focused on helping people better understand the wildlife around them without fear, misinformation, or unnecessary conflict. I hold an Associate’s degree in Environmental Science from Cape Cod Community College and a Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Conservation and Biology from the University of Rhode Island, where I focused on mammals, canids, and ecological fieldwork.
Alongside that, I’ve worked professionally with dogs since 2017, giving me a unique perspective on the overlap between human, domestic animal, and wildlife interactions. My approach to conservation is grounded in reality—understanding both the ecological side and the human side, and finding a balance where coexistence actually works.
Photography has been a part of my life just as long. I’ve been holding a camera since I was 12, and spent four years studying Photography and Digital Visual Communications at Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School. During that time, I competed in SkillsUSA, earning Gold at Districts and Silver at the State level in photography.
But over the last few years, I stepped away.
What started as something I loved slowly turned into something that felt heavy. I found myself trying to fit into a version of “professional” that didn’t actually feel like me—polished, predictable, easy to digest. In the process, I lost the part of myself that made me fall in love with creating in the first place.
At my core, I’m an artist. And artists aren’t meant to fit neatly into boxes.
So this is a reset.
Renee Visuals has evolved into Renee Visuals Media—a space that reflects everything I actually care about creating. That means photography, yes, but also wildlife education, field-based work, and sharing my experience as an independent wildlife biologist.
Right now, that looks like building region-specific educational resources, working on creative projects through the dog daycare I’m part of, and stepping into new areas like boudoir photography—work that feels personal, expressive, and fully aligned with who I am.
This isn’t a return to what I was doing before.
It’s something more honest.
And for the first time in a long time, I’m excited again.
